 # What is Hanbok?

In few years, you can find many young generation wear Hanboks walking along the street at travel spots like Bookchon Hanok Village in Seoul or Hanok Village in Jeonju.

Hanbok is Korean traditional clothes like Kimono from Japan, Chipao from China.
Hanbok has to wear depends on gender, hierarchy and purpose (weather of course).

Straight line which is stretched out and curved lines provides perfect harmony.
Hanbok for female has a short jacket called Jeogori and a long skirt called Chima. It is full to provide sufficient harmony with elegant and neat.
Hanbok for male is consist with Jegori and trouser called Bahji as the basic clothes and they can add up the charms with vest and a short top coat called Magoja over the Jegori.

Basic color of Hanboks are white but depends on season and social position, there are differences in how to wearing them, colour and material they use.
However, during the special ceremony such as wedding, ordinary people charm themselves up and wear Hanbok like noble people.
Recently  Korea people wear the Hanbok during the New Year's day or Choo Suk which is like Thanks Giving holidays in western countries even though it is our own tradition.

But there is small movement and it is trend to wear Hanbok at the Korean traditional places like photos above.
Also fusion Hanbok which is more convenient to wear and more inexpensive, people modify the Hanbok and enjoy to wear them in real life.

So today I would like to introduce the modern Hanbok.
Let's enjoy how they are convenient but still beautiful.

# Trendy Modern Hanbok

As you can see above, it is designed to keep the shape of Hanbok but to change its length and width to provide convenience for daily life.
The pattern material and charms are various and design is also up to the designers.
Even though it is traditional clothes but it is even trendy.

This movement is making the conception/thought of Hanbok entirely in good way which is very nice.
And someone who is not familiar with original one can easily try the fusion/daily Hanbok without any repulsion.

If you are interested in more look, you can search Daily Hanbok, Modern Hanbok, Living Hanbok on SNS or Google.
Tons of images will welcome you. :-)

Once weather gets more warmer, I will also visit Hanbok village and wear the Hanbok someday.
